    Pre-Separation Air Filtration System
This time-saving technology boosts the efficiency of the engine’s filter system, doubling the time between air filter cleanings. Air drawn into the engine is first separated via centrifugal force, ejecting the heavier dirt particles before being routed to the air filter. This pre-separation means less dirt to be captured by the air filter, resulting in less frequent cleaning and maintenance.

    Side-Access Chain Tensioner
The side-access chain tensioner makes it much more convenient for the user to adjust the saw chain with a bar wrench as opposed to the typical location of the guide bar adjustment screw.

MS 291 is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 255.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs good but oiler system is no good Bought my saw new for cutting fire wood. Have had it for 4 years and have yet to wear a chain out because they keep breaking. Have had the saw in to two different dealers to fix the oiler system but it have never seemed put enough oil on the chain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding chainsaw! Great power and ease of use. Have cut 10+ cords of firewood and it still starts and runs with ease. It is pricey, but worth the money. It is the 4th chainsaw I’ve owned (3 different brands) and is, by far, the best. Highly recommend this saw!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it's suppose to with no fuss Bought this saw for felling trees for fire wood and clearing fallen trees and branches for other property owners. Easy to start even in -0 degree weather, very reliable and get longer run time on a take of gas. The thing I noticed right away was how smooth this chainsaw runs, very low vibration which was important to me because I just had elbow surgery, I can run the saw for several hours at a time and the weight is good and feels balanced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best saw I've ever used!! This is a very powerful saw as I have cut up logs that were 45" in diameter. I mainly cut white, red and black oak and it eats right through it without any problem. You will not be disappointed with this one!
Date published: 2018-02-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from This product does not allow enough oil to the bar and chain! Because of its very poor oiling system, I am on the third bar and fourth chain. No way to adjust the oil flow. I was thinking,” you get what you pay for” , so I went with a Stihl and paid a lot more for it than the previous two chainsaws that I currently own. BIG MISTAKE!!! Buyers regret to its extreme!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from MS 291 My 291 has performed well. I seems to have plenty of power to get the job done. My only disappointment so far is that the front bar tightening bolt stripped out. I was told by the dealer that it is threaded into the plastic part of the case. Therefore you must be careful when tightening or it will strip. The dealer fixed it by installing a larger stud in the housing. Apparently, this is common, because he had them in stock and fixed it in a few minutes. I'm not sure what the remedy will be should the larger stud strip.
